Online Autscape 2025: “More Autistic Joy” (7-9 Feb)
Sorry, registration is now closed.
Click here for the schedule and info on the presentations
The fee for the online event is £20. The money raised will help us to reduce costs for future events.
The main presentations will be broadcast online as interactive webinars. We will also have a range of supplemental activities such as discussions and expect to include variants of our usual social and leisure activities and entertainment.
Our Discord server will be available during parts of the event as a moderated social space where you may interact with other participants and speakers.
Registration closes on the 7th of February at 16:00/4pm GMT. An email will be sent out shortly afterwards containing the Zoom link, the Discord link, and a link to the full schedule as a TeamUp Calendar.
We hope to see many of you there!
Autscape 2025: “Evolving Autistic Space” (4-7 Aug)
Though the programme is not available yet, registration for this year’s residential event is now open.
If you need a bursary to support you with costs, please wait; we are still working on the bursary policy.
Please read the Booking policy before booking. We advise that you take out insurance in case you have to cancel. A non refundable booking fee/deposit of £50 applies to all bookings. We also advise that you read all the information as we have some important changes from last year.

Notes about which fee to choose
- The Adult standard fee £495 per person with extra day £620
- This for a standard single en-suite room. All rooms have a shower, some in a shower cubicle and some above the bath.
- The Adult sharing fee £465 per person with extra day £590
- This is for adults who want to share a room either with another adult and/or children. All rooms have a shower, some in a shower cubicle and some above the bath. We have a variety of rooms including double beds, twins, family rooms with various combinations. If you book a shared room the people you want to share with should be on the same booking.
If you want to share with somebody who is making a separate booking you must both state that you want to share with each other on the booking form.
Please note that we will not be offering a matching service so if you want to share you should find somebody you want to share with yourself. - The Adult reduced fee £465 per person with extra day £590
- This is for a standard en-suite room but for people with no requirements. There are a limited number of these rooms which are harder for us to fill as they may be in noisy areas eg. By lifts or stairs or they are of lower quality and due for renovation. They may also be upstairs or have a bath or shower.
Please note if you book a reduced fee room and find it is intolerable and need to move this will be subject to a room being available and you will be asked to pay the extra fee. - The Adult professional fee £745 per person with extra day £870

- Child fee £245 with extra day £305
- Child aged 0 to 2 yrs can come for free if they stay with their parents/carers throughout Autscape. If they want to access the crèche they should pay the Child fee. Please note the crèche will not be available for the extra day.
Things to know before you book
Times
Autscape starts at 15.00hrs on Monday 4th August 2025.
Autscape ends at 14.00hrs on Thursday 7th August 2025.
The Extra day is an additional day which is optional. There will be no activities from lunchtime on Thursday 7th August 2025. We have a limited number of extra day places for people who want to take their time before re-entry into the real world. The extra day ends after lunch on Friday 8th August. Everybody must be off the site by 14.00hrs including organisers.
During the extra day the organisers will be packing up. Autscape rules no longer apply and there will be no quiet dining room.
Unfortunately this year a group of approx 80 people will be arriving on Thursday afternoon. This is because we do not have exclusive use of the venue on the extra day. They will be directed to the Derbyshire suite for their conference which we will stop using by then. However, they will be able to access the communal spaces and we will be sharing the dining room.
Rooms
All rooms are en-suite. Some have a shower over the bath and some have shower cubicles.
We have a variety of rooms with the majority being used as singles. We also have a limited amount of twins, family rooms and accessible rooms.
You will not have to share a room unless you request a shared room.
If you are booking a few rooms for a group of people please let the registrar know if you need the rooms located together.
You will be asked what type of room you would like and also whether you have any requirements or preferences.
A requirement is something that is essential for you to be able to attend Autscape. If we cannot meet your requirement then you may not be able to attend.
A preference is something you would like but is not essential eg. A preference for a bath, a preference for top floor or a quiet area.
If you can remember your room from a previous year and would like to be located there again you can also put this as a preference.
We will accommodate preferences if we are able to but if you have a lot of preferences you should state which is more important eg. If you would like a room with a bath in a quiet area on the ground floor, is the bath more important than the quiet area or ground floor. A bath in a quiet area on the ground floor might not be available but a bath in a quiet area on the second floor could be.
Families/Children
The venue expect children up to the age of 16 to share with their parents/carers.
We have a variety of family rooms, e.g. double and two singles, so it helps if you let us know what is the best configuration for your family.
If you would like to discuss your requirements before booking, please contact the registrar.
Children under the age of 16 are the responsibility of their parents/carers but we provide a crèche which starts after breakfast until dinner.
Autscape's crèche is run by registered child care provider Box of Frogs who have been running our crèche for many years. They are familiar with Autscape and our children.
Our crèche is unusual as we do not generally have a lot of children and the ones we have may range in age from babies to teenagers. They may also be neurodivergent. The crèche will tailor activities depending on the children who attend. Our teenagers usually meet at the crèche and form their own social group. Children are free to come and go from the crèche but are the responsibility of parents/carers if they are not attending. The creche operates a signing in/signing out system.
A lot of our children often need extra help at school or don't cope well in a normal crèche. The staff of Autscape's crèche can usually accommodate this and most children in the past have enjoyed attending. However, if your child normally requires close 1:1 supervision we ask that you provide this whilst your child attends the crèche.
If you have any concerns about the creche please contact the registrar.
Accessibility
This is a large venue and the bedrooms are mainly in an accommodation block similar to a Premier Inn/Travelodge attached to the main house.
It is fully accessible with lifts and ramps to all main areas. Only a small number of bedrooms are accessible by stairs only.
We also have a limited number of fully accessible bedrooms with wet rooms. If you need one of these rooms, then please put this as a requirement when booking.
However, if you are able to walk but have limited mobility you may prefer to be in one of the rooms closest to the communal areas. Unfortunately these areas will have a higher footfall and will not be in a quiet area. They may also not have have a shower cubicle or a bath that you require. Therefore you may need to decide which is most important to you or discuss your requirements with the registrar prior to booking.
Registered assistance dogs are also permitted but we may limit these in accordance with our Accessibility policy. Please let the registrar know if you intend to bring an assistance dog so we can make sure you have a room with enough space for your dog and easy access to a dog walking area.
Booking name
You are required to give a forename and surname when booking. This is the name you will be registered under and the name used at registration and by the venue, especially in case of emergency eg. A fire roll call. This name cannot be kept confidential as it will be on your folder and may be used around other people. However, we appreciate that some people do not want to give their real names. We do not insist that you use your real name but if you choose a name you must remember it as this is what you will be known by to the registrar and the venue. The name you use for payment will be known only to the treasurer.
You will be given the option of choosing a name for your name badge and this is what other participants will know you by.
Diet/food/menus
You will be asked to choose a diet from the following: No preference; Vegetarian; Vegan; Pescatarian; Gluten free; Dairy free.
Please let us know if you have a severe allergy to any food that would cause a severe reaction that the venue need to know about. Also let us know if you have an Epi pen.
Please note there is no self catering option and takeaways are not allowed on the site. Only dry food is allowed in bedrooms eg. Crisps, biscuits, protein bars.
We can tell you that the menu will be varied and a lot of the food will be self service. The food is all home cooked and includes a lot of fresh fruit and vegetables. Where possible food will be separated so you can choose the parts you like.
We understand that food can be a big issue for many of our people and approx half of our participants have some dietary issues. However, the venue cannot provide individual meals so we do our best to provide a menu and style of serving whereby almost everybody can eat something at every mealtime. If your diet is so restricted that you do not think you will be able to eat then please contact us before booking.
Transport
We will be offering a limited number of places on the mini bus transport to and from Alfreton station. There is no charge for this service but we would appreciate a donation to help cover the cost.
If the places are all taken in advance you should come prepared to pay for either a bus or a taxi. Alfreton is a small station and it will have plenty of Autscapers arriving on Monday afternoon. We might be able to help you find a taxi share.
However, we might be able to offer you a place on the transport. People who book in advance will be given first priority but quite often people change their minds and find an alternative way of getting to Autscape or they are delayed so we have spare places. We also leave spaces for luggage which may not be taken up.
During Autscape we will have a place where you can confirm or change your return transport.
Home Group
You will be asked if you want to join a Home Group and if so what time you prefer.
Home groups are optional and the aim is to help people get to know others. They meet at regular times and consist of a small group of people with a facilitator. If you sign up for a home group it is not compulsory that you attend all the meetings of your group. If you choose to join a home group you will find details of your assigned group and meeting place in your registration pack.
Selling tables/Display tables
We will have an area for selling tables, poster displays and advertising other groups. Spaces will be limited and these can be booked at the same time as you register or later. Please note if you intend to sell things that you will be expected to deal with your customers yourself.
Display tables cost £10 - these are for people who just want to bring information about what they do or the groups they are involved with. They may have leaflets/flyers to give away or surveys, info about research etc. They may be located in corridors and are not supervised.
Selling tables cost £15 - these are for people who want to sell things and they will be located with other selling tables and are supervised.
Difficulty affording Autscape
We will be offering bursaries for people who cannot afford the full fee.
We have a set amount of money reserved for this, and we encourage people to apply - please see the link for further info. You should apply for a bursary before you book as successful applicants will be given a booking code with the reduced fee.
If we are unable to offer you a bursary we might be able to find another way to help you afford to come. Sometimes our generous participants make it known that they are willing to pay towards helping somebody attend or we may be able to increase our bursary fund.
We are also able to offer payment by two instalments. Please select this option when checking out and the treasurer will contact you.
On-line component
We intend to make as much content as possible available some for people who cannot make it to the live event. Details about the online component of the event and booking for this will be available later.
Day visitors
Autscape is a residential event and we have to prioritise bookings for residential participants. Hopefully we will be able to release some day tickets in due course.
