Our accommodation was split over two of the school's boarding houses Carr and Style.
Houses
(numbers 27 and 33 on the Number 27 on the map). The front doors to the houses are kept locked at all times. To enter you need to type in a number. Each house has a common room and mini kitchen (bring your owncups, plates, pots, cutlery etc).Bedrooms
- Most of the bedrooms were twins (2 people). There are also some single and some three and four people rooms.
- A limited number of single rooms were available for a 20 pounds supplement.
- Lockers were available for personal belongings but you needed to bring your own padlock and key. These were available on a first come first served basis.
- All bedrooms contained a washbasin; some of the larger bedrooms had two. The water in the cold tap was drinkable.
- Most bedrooms had fluorescent lights. As none of the bedrooms had bedside lights, people who needed them brought their own or a torch bearing in mind that the bedroom desk may not be beside the bed.
- Potential Issues
- There were no lifts in the boarding houses.
- While you were allowed to bring your meal to your room it was advisable to let us know in advance if you would be doing this so that we could book you into the nearer of the two houses to the dining room - Carr.
Bathrooms
- There were no en-suite facilities. There were both showers and baths. Mainly showers. As mentioned above all bedrooms contained a washbasin.
